SIVABALAN SANKARAN was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1989 and has been in practice since then in Brunei and Malaysia.
He is a highly regarded senior contracts, commercial and litigation lawyer and in his early practice was a highly-experienced insurance lawyer having been retained by major insurance companies for a variety of matters involving areas of insurance including marine, damage claims, fire and general insurance matters. He has also represented insurance companies from Singapore, Brunei, Malaysia and Netherlands in the drafting of policies, and advice on corporate restructuring, mergers and more.
He worked with international counsel on numerous arbitrations including construction and international commercial contract-related arbitration and is now focused on the Construction sector in Malaysia.
He represents multinational clients in a wide range of other litigious matter including insolvency, building contracts and construction disputes, land disputes, landlord and tenant matters, banking and finance litigation, and defamation. He has appeared in the courts in Malaysia and Brunei both at first instance and appellate level at the Court of Appeal and Federal Court in Malaysia and at the Court of Appeal in Brunei. He has also appeared as expert witness on Brunei law in the High Court in Singapore.
Mr Sankaran was listed in Chambers for Business law in Brunei. He is a Fellow of the Malaysian Society of Adjudicators, a Fellow of the Asian Institute of Alternative Dispute Resolution, a member of the Malaysian Institute of Arbitrators as well as an acrcedited Arbitrator and Adjudicator with the Asian International Arbitration Centre (formerly known as KLRCA).

FAKHRUL ANWAR BIN RAMLI was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 1997 and has accumulated nearly three decades of distinguished legal practice with extensive experience in corporate, banking, conveyancing and commercial matters.
He completed his pupilage with Messrs Tia & Nordin before embarking on a successful legal career with several established law firms in Johor Bahru including Messrs Ali Zaitun & Baharuddin, Messrs Othman Hashim & Co, Messrs Shariff & Som and Messrs Rahim & Lawrence. Throughout his career, he has developed substantial expertise in general litigation, conveyancing, corporate banking, construction-related disputes, and corporate advisory work.
Mr. Fakhrul possesses extensive experience in advising and acting or leading property developers and corporate clients in a broad spectrum of real estate and commercial transactions. He has been entrusted with handling the conveyancing and corporate legal work for renowned developers including Messrs UEM Sunrise Berhad, Messrs UDA Holdings Berhad, Messrs Perbadanan PR1MA Malaysia, Messrs Crescendo Corporation Berhad, Messrs Johor Land Berhad and Messrs Country Garden Pacificview Sdn. WONG HAI WAI was called to the Malaysian Bar in 1986 and has been in practice since then specialising in trial court experience including appellate work. He completed his pupilage with Messrs Manjit Singh Sachet, Mohammad Radii & Partners and thereafter joined the firm of Messrs Megat Najmuddin Leong & Partners.
In 1989 he joined Messrs T. H. Su & Co and he was the partner in-charge of litigation department. The main areas of his work are in banking recovery work, insolvency, co-operative societies and construction disputes and arbitration.
He set up his own firm of Messrs Wong Hai Wai & Associates in 1997 specialising in drafting contracts, construction disputes and contract management. The main areas of his work center on construction disputes and arbitrations with the collorary action in court for applications for injunctions against calls for guarantees and performance bonds, applications for leave to enforce arbitral awards, applications to set aside arbitral awards, applications to stay court proceedings, applications to remove arbitrators.
In 2009 he joined Messrs Tan Swee Im, P.Y. Hoh & Tai [now known as Messrs Tan Swee Im, Siva & Partners] as a consultant.

KOKHIVENY KANAGARATNAM graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the University of the West of England, Bristol in 2006 and obtained her Certificate in Legal Practice (CLP) in 2010. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2011. In 2024, she obtained her Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the University of Nottingham Malaysia.
Kokhilaveny has more than 14 years of experience in dispute resolution and litigation. Her practice encompasses insurance litigation, civil and commercial disputes, banking litigation, debt recovery, insolvency proceedings and enforcement actions.
She regularly advises and represents local and foreign insurers in a wide range of insurance disputes, including motor bodily injury and third-party property damage claims, policy coverage issues, indemnity disputes, subrogation recovery actions and fraud-related investigations. Her work frequently involves assessing liability, evaluating quantum, reviewing medical and expert evidence, and advising on litigation strategy, claims exposure and settlement negotiations. She also regularly conducts and negotiates settlements on behalf of insurers with a view to achieving commercially practical and cost-effective outcomes. She has extensive experience managing matters through all stages of litigation, from pre-action advisory and case assessment to trial and appellate proceedings.
In addition to insurance-related matters, Kokhilaveny has acted for financial institutions, corporations and individual clients in a broad range of civil and commercial disputes, including contractual disputes, tortious claims, debt recovery matters, bankruptcy proceedings, winding-up proceedings, garnishee proceedings and other enforcement and execution actions.

NORVINDRAN SIVARAJAH

NORVIN graduated from the University of of London in 2017 and obtained the Certificate in Legal Practice in 2018. He was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya on 14.2.2020.
He is a motivated civil and criminal litigator with the proven know how to combine creative approaches with in depth legal knowledge to obtain necessary results. He has assisted and conducted matters in all tiers of the Malaysian Courts and quasi-judicial tribunals.
Norvin’s main areas of practice are in employment law, contract law, criminal law, the law of tort, strata management law, company law, housing developer law and construction law
Norvin joined Messrs Tan Swee Im, Siva & Partners in September 2023 and works in the dispute resolution and alternative dispute resolution department of the firm.

CYNTHIA JESSY ANAK JOSEPH graduated from University Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) with Bachelor of Law Degree with Honours (LLB Hons) in August 2022. Upon her graduation, she went through her pupillage at Messrs. Syed Alwi, Ng & Co before she was admitted as an Advocates and Solicitors of the High Court Malaya in 2023.
During her pupillage, she handled conveyancing matter such as Developer's Project Cases, Refinancing, Loan Agreement for Sub sale cases, Perfection cases, Will and estate matter, Discharge of Charge, Deed of Gift and also Tenancy Agreement. At the same time, she also handled Civil litigation matter such as Insurance Accident Claims, Banking Litigation, Auction Cases and Bankruptcy cases.
Her enthusiasm and determination to expand her passion in the conveyancing, she joined Messrs. Syazwan Syazani & Partners in 2023 as the Legal Associate focusing on Sub sale cases, Loan Agreements for Sub sale cases, Perfection of transfer and Perfection of charge and Refinancing matter.

SYAZWANI MAHMUD

SYAZWANI MAHMUD graduated with a Bachelor of Laws (Hons) from the Ahmad Ibrahim Kulliyyah of Laws, International Islamic University Malaysia (IIUM) in 2018. She was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in March 2021.
Syazwani has more than five years of experience in dispute resolution and litigation. Her practice encompasses commercial disputes, insurance litigation, particularly motor insurance claims, debt recovery, insolvency proceedings, employment disputes, probate and estate administration, partnership disputes, land-related matters and appellate advocacy. She also has experience in arbitration-related matters, constitutional litigation and regulatory disputes.
She has acted for corporations, insurers and private individuals at all levels of the Malaysian courts, including the Magistrates' Courts, Sessions Courts, High Court, Court of Appeal and Federal Court. Her experience spans all stages of litigation, from pre-action advisory and drafting of pleadings to interlocutory applications, trials, appeals and enforcement proceedings.
Syazwani has also been involved in constitutional and public interest litigation, including reported cases concerning educational rights and constitutional issues. Her experience further extends to arbitration-related matters, matters involving the Anti-Money Laundering, Anti-Terrorism Financing and Proceeds of Unlawful Activities Act 2001 (AMLA), and other regulatory disputes. S'NG YUAN NIAN
S’NG YUAN NIAN completed his Bachelor of Law (Hons.) from Multimedia University in 2023 and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in 2024. He is a double degree holder, having obtained his first Computational Mathematics degree from University Malaysia Terengganu in 2018.
He undertook his pupillage at Messrs Tan Swee Im, Siva and Partners, where he gained substantial experience in a wide array of general litigation matters, including contract disputes, accident claims, debt recovery, professional negligence and labour disputes. Additionally, he also assisted in probate and conveyancing matters. He is currently engaged in managing both litigation and conveyancing cases at the firm.

PATRRICIA D'SILVA A/P GODFERRY D'SILVA, completed her Bachelor of Laws (Hons.) [LL.B] at Universiti Sultan Zainal Abidin (UniSZA) and was admitted as an Advocate and Solicitor of the High Court of Malaya in July 2023.
She has extensive experience in conveyancing matters, having handled a wide range of transactions, including multiple developer portfolios, subsale transactions, perfection of transfer and charge, discharge of charge, tenancy agreements, will writing, and loan documentation during her tenure at her previous firm.
In addition, she has exposure to civil litigation matters, including bankruptcy cases, accident claims, banking litigation, and auction proceedings.
